Parent/Teacher Conferences
Yesterday, for the first time in many years, I was privileged to participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences as a teacher! I have spent this trimester with a terrific group of seniors in an Honors English IV class and I have had a wonderful time. On a great many days, the time I spend with them has been the best part of my day. I was grateful to meet many of their parents yesterday. I hope that those of you who attended conferences had gratifying and fruitful conversations.

Conferences are a reminder that we are rapidly progressing through the trimester… this means Final Exams must be relatively soon to follow. For your planning purposes, here is the exam schedule for 2nd Trimester:

    • 10:50am Period 5 Exam

Speech and Debate
This weekend at the school, Speech and Debate will host The Colorado Cup, one of the largest speech meets of the year. Our team has had a remarkably successful year thus far and they are excited to be bringing together schools from across the city and state, to show off our campus and to welcome so many to Mullen! I am grateful for the efforts of Mrs. and Mr. Trevithick, our amazing moderators, for Mr. Fast, Ms. Miller and the Facilities Team for preparing for this event and for all of the parents and students coming together to make it happen! Go Mustangs!

“Mom, Dad... I Don’t Feel Well…”
Judging from the amount of teachers and staff who have missed time here or there from illness in these first days back after Break and looking over the absence lists, it is clear that many of us - including me - have not been feeling our best. If your son or daughter is sick and misses a day or two of school, please encourage them to feel better and to rest, but also to check the online platforms their teachers use to be sure they know what is going on in class and to find their teachers when they return to see what they missed. Stay healthy, everyone!

Out Next Week
Next week I am going to be out of the office on Kairos with a group of our juniors and the senior  and faculty/staff team. I am so excited to be a part of this retreat. I have been looking for the perfect opportunity to attend and God tapped me on the shoulder this week and said “this is it.” Please pray for the retreatants, the team and me.

A Wonderful Story
I was reading America Magazine a few weeks back and came upon this story about a Catholic school performing an amazing and humbling service. As I daily look at my office window at Fort Logan, it has profound resonance with me.

Have wonderful weekends, all.

Peace,
