Mitch Ringman, Student-Athlete of the Week

Class:
Senior.

Grade-point average:
3.33.

Favorite subject:
Mathematics.

High-school sports:
Keeper for boys soccer; placekicker and punter for football..

What I’ve done lately:
Made several keys saves, including in a shootout, to help the Mustangs beat Centaurus and advance to Saturday’s quarterfinals in Class 4A. Also has put up seven shutouts.

Why I attend Mullen:
My sister, Emma, graduated from here and so did my brother, Bryce, so with both siblings having attended here, they both loved it, so I thought I’d come.

The best thing about my sport:
I’ve been playing (soccer) since I was 4 and have just built a love for the sport. It’s just something I can go to no matter what time of day it is. I can go out to the field by myself and being a goalie I love the sessions when it's raining and diving around in the mud, and having a blast.

Planned career:
For soccer, I’m trying to play in college. I want to try and stay in state, considering Metro State. For career, it will be kinesiology.

In my immediate future:
I’m looking to play well in the quarterfinals. It’s going to be a home game and we’re coming off those two upset (victories) from the rankings. I’m looking forward to it.
