'Stangs set for 4A semis

--- The match in Greeley at the University of Northern Colorado will be a late one, 8 p.m., after the initial semifinal between defending state champion and No. 2 Northridge and No. 14 Summit, slated for 5:30 p.m.

--- To date in the playoffs, the 20th-seeded Mustangs, state runners-up in 2021, have downed No. 13 Lewis-Palmer, No. 6 Centaurus and No. 28 Pueblo Centennial.

--- For No. 16 Battle Mountain, the Huskies have defeated No. 17 Wheat Ridge, No. 12 Coronado and No. 9 Air Academy.

--- Mullen is 13-3-2 in 2022, 3-2-2 in the 5A-based Centennial League.

--- Battle Mountain is 12-4-2, 6-2-2 in the 4A Western Slope League.

--- The Mustangs have won 20 of their past 27 playoff matches, including seven of their past eight.

--- The Huskies have won 18 of their past 27 postseason games.

--- Over two seasons, Mullen is 31-5-2, including 7-1 in the playoffs.

--- Over 2021-22, the Huskies are 24-10-2, 4-1 in the postseason.

--- The Mustangs have outscored their opposition by an aggregate 54-17.

--- The Huskies have outscored their foes by a combined 51-26.

--- Balanced scoring has carried Mullen. Alex Sedita leads the team with 10 goals. Next are Ethan Lehman (nine), Finn Dugan (eight) and Alex Evans (seven). As for assists, Evans has been the biggest helper, totaling 13.

--- Alexis Dozal tops Battle Mountain in goals with nine. Arturo Aguilar and Jakob Methvin each have six.

--- In goal, Mitch Ringman has been the proverbial wall, compiling seven shutouts and turning in several key saves, including in the shootout in Lafayette in the quarterfinals.

--- Ezequiel Aguilar has a 1.313 goals-against average for the Huskies.

--- Since 2009, the two programs have played only twice, both the past season – Mullen won 5-0 in August in the season opener and 3-0 in the semifinals in November.
