Mark Troni, Student-Athlete of the week

High-school sports:
Wrestling (145 pounds, state-placer in 2020, fifth at 126) and track and field (middle sprints).
What I’ve done lately: 2-0 in early going of the new Season B, both victories by pin.
Grade-point average: 4.04.
Class: Junior.

Why I attend Mullen:
Probably because of my neighbor’s boys, they liked it ands then I shadowed here. I thought it was a cool school and I liked the environment.
The best thing about my sport: For wrestling, it’s how it’s an individual sport and you’re not relying on another teammate. You can’t push the blame anywhere else. On the mat, it’s just me. I’m responsible for winning or losing.
In my future: I want to wrestle at a (Division III) school somewhere.
Pre-Game ritual: Usually, I eat and warm up. Then I focus on my match. I guess that’s my ritual; it’s just something I do before a match.
Favorite college team: Penn State football.
Why I play: I got into it because my Dad wanted me to wrestle and he kept me in it. Over time, I started liking the sport and the friends that came along with it. We have a good group. Everybody’s friendly with each other.
