High-school sport: Track and field (long jump, triple jump and relays; two-time champon in the triple jump and defending champion in the long jump).
What I’ve done lately: Recently set the all-time best by a female long-jumper in Colorado history, 41 feet, 10 inches, which also is tops nationally in 2022. Also went 19-11.25 in the long jump, the best in state this season and second nationally.
Grade-point average: 3.1.
Class: Senior.
Why I attend Mullen: Honestly, I applied and got in … my parents said it would be a good opportunity and I thought I might as well do it.
The best thing about my sport: The fact that it’s an individual sport.
In my future: Will compete in track and field at Oklahoma and major in biology to work in anesthesiology or to be in OB-GYN.
Pre-Meet ritual: It’s really, really long – I wake up at 5:07 a.m. every Saturday. It depends how early I have to wake up, but it’s always on an :07. Then I take a shower and get to a gas station to get my drink (BodyArmor or Red Bull) and warm-up the same way, and put on my left spike before my right spike.
Favorite college team: None.
Why I play: I compete in it because it’s just an escape and very anesthesiology therapeutic for me. I know people hate hard workouts – me, too – but in the end it’s all that matters and it helps.
