Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees at Mullen High School govern on behalf of the School's sponsor, De La Salle Christian Brothers. The purpose of the Board of Trustees is to preserve and advance the mission of the School by developing board directives through which the President works to meet determined goals.

  • Flossie O'Leary, Chair

    Flossie O'Leary joined the Board of Trustees in February 2015. Flossie received her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regis University and a Bachelor's in Communications from Rutgers University. Flossie currently is Principal at Ripple Affect LLC. Flossie brings extensive experience in organizational leadership, leadership training, strategic thinking and strategy deployment. She has secured $33 million in philanthropic dollars and millions more in the private sector and built top-performing teams. Flossie has extensive experience in education non-profits and also serves as an affiliate faculty member in the Master of Nonprofit Management at Regis University.
  • William A. Gilbert, Vice Chair

    Proud parent of three Mullen graduates, Brittany (2010), Andrew (2011) and Quincey (2014). Bill graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1990 with a Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering. He started his career drilling offshore oil wells all over the world. His last rig was in the Bearing Sea of Alaska. For the past 25 years, Bill has been in the IT business. First, doing product management and international M&A work. At the time, six different international companies were acquired and merged into what today is known as I.H.S. Energy. Most recently, Bill serves as an Executive Vice President at Statera, a Digital Transformation IT firm headquartered in Greenwood Village Colorado.

    Bill’s interests outside of his career center on community involvement and the Colorado outdoors. He is an avid fly fisherman, elk hunter and cyclist. He will ride the Triple Bypass for the 8th time this year! Bill has served as the President of the School Advisory Committee at St. Bernadette Catholic School in Lakewood. For almost 15 years, Bill has coached in a variety of settings and sporting activities including Gold Crown Foundation, Catholic School Athletic League, Colorado Rush Soccer Club, and High School Girls Basketball. He started coaching High School at Mullen and has had roles at Golden High School as well as Columbine High School.
  • Linda Brady

    Linda, retired Mullen principal, holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in history from the University of Denver. She is also a graduate of DU's educational leadership program as well as the Lasallian Leadership Institute. She has experienced Mullen from a number of different perspectives serving initially as a member  of the the social studies department and then academic assistant principal before becoming principal. Additionally, she and her husband Tim have three daughters, two of whom are Mullen graduates: Sara, class of 1993, and Kathleen, class of 1995. 
  • Gary Cannon

  • Brother David L. Caretti FSC, EdD

    Brother David is a De La Salle Brother, a member of the District of San Francisco New Orleans, and he holds a BA in Integral Liberal Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California, an MA in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and also an EdD in Catholic Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco, where he completed research in governance models and relationships within Catholic education. Having served within Lasallian Catholic education for the past 18 years, Brother David has served as a religious studies and mathematics faculty member and will be going into his fifth year as Director for Campus Ministry at Saint Mary’s College High School, where he has focused on building the liturgy, retreat and adult faith formation programs. Recent service to Saint Mary’s as well as other District schools has been as a chair and visiting team member of WCEA E3 accreditation as well as in the LCAP process. Brother David enjoys assisting schools achieve better success and growth through the accreditation process. As a member of the Brothers’ District Vocation Team, Brother David is the liaison with a number of the Brothers’ schools, inclusive of Mullen High School, in support of their vocation programs, and also serves the 30-plus young men in various levels of discernment with the Brothers, hoping that they come to see their vocation as living a life in educational service to students.
  • Walt Coughlin, '80

    Walt is a 1980 Mullen graduate. Walt graduated from Stanford University in 1984 with a degree in Economics and from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern in 1986. Walt worked for Salomon Brothers in New York and Los Angeles for four years and joined his family’s investment banking firm, Coughlin & Co., in 1990 where he works with Catholic and non-profit groups throughout the US who need debt financing for their new capital or refinancing needs. He and his wife Ellyn have two college age daughters.
