'Stangs tame Rebels

Mulen girls beat Columbine 7-0 in nonleague, a start for a quite busy week.

In Littleton and on the start of a very busy week, Mullen girls tennis swept host Columbine 7-0 in nonleague.

The Mustangs are 2-1 in dual meets.

Lexi Yost, Lilly Evans and Savanna Hanley each won in singles with Evans rallying to take a 3-6, 6-0, 10-6 extended victory at No. 2.

As for doubles, Grace Brouillette-Avery Walters, Clara Dailey-Claire Lenich, Anna Lawrence-Maisie McMorrow and Emma Lehman-Grace Jeffers combined for sweeps and lost only a combined 12 games.

Weather permitting, Mullen will delve deeply into its schedule with a Centennial League dual on Tuesday hosting Cherry Creek, 3:45 p.m.; a home nonleaguer on Wednesday against Golden, 3:30 p.m.; a league meet at Grandview on Thursday, 3:30 p.m.; and a trip on Saturday to Colorado Springs to participate in perennial power Cheyenne Mountain’s Invitational, 8 a.m.

No 3 singles – Savanna Hanley def. Leila Wheeler 6-1, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles – Grace Brouillette-Avery Walters def. Julie Than-Anna Masiello 6-1, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles – Clara Dailey-Claire Lenich def. Maddie Lynett-Maddie Katsanis 6-1, 6-1.

No. 3 doubles – Anna Lawrence-Maisie McMorrow def. Jozi Hei-Braylee Epp 6-1, 6-0.

No. 4 doubles – Emma Lehman-Grace Jeffers def. Morgan Scheider-Sofia Lovely 6-3, 6-3.
